Understanding Navman Dash Cam Connectivity & Privacy
25/06/26
There has recently been discussion about Live View and Live Broadcast Cloud capabilities offered by another dash camera brand. For clarity, we would like to confirm that Navman dash cam models do not offer Live View streaming functionality via a cloud service. All footage captured by Navman dash cams is stored locally on the device's microSD card. For Navman dash cam models that feature Wi-Fi capabilities, footage may only be transferred to a connected smartphone if the user chooses to do so. Users may then choose to share that footage with third parties, such as police or insurance providers The Navman Live View function is solely designed to support with camera installation, allowing users to adjust the camera positioning for optimal recording view. Navman’s Wi-Fi connection is a direct link between the dash cam and the user’s smartphone. It operates as a closed loop and does not rely on cloud services or internet-based streaming and is used exclusively for local communication between the two devices.

Navman does not store or access footage or data captured by its dash cams, and recordings are not uploaded to a public portal or cloud service by the device. It is your private data and it stays with you and your SD card or smartphone. If you have any questions regarding how our dash cam technology works, please contact us.
